Since 1976, the Department of Psychiatry at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC EP) Paul L. Foster School of Medicine (PLFSM) has been providing mental health care to improve the lives of those living in the Paso Del Norte (“The Gateway to the North”) region, train the next generation of physicians and psychiatrists, and be a site of innovative research for the 21st century.

- M.D. or D.O. degree required.
- Board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or hold credentials deemed equivalent to Certification by the ACGME’s Psychiatry Residency Review Committee.
- Successful completion of ACGME approved residency program in Psychiatry; Completion of post-doctoral fellowship preferred.
- Texas state medical license or eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Texas.
- Regional or emerging national reputation for the rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor or higher.
